Big couple of days. I started work yesterday at the magazine. Not a bad job. I like the people who work there, it's quiet, and it's copyediting, which is relaxing anyway. But the big news is I have an apartment. I'm signing the papers on Monday. It's sixty square meters, one bedroom, huge living room, bay windows, faces the street, gas range with oven... really hideous Soviet wallpaper. I can afford it because it hasn't been renovated since 1944, and the furniture is ugly as sin. And I do mean ugly. The sofa is shin-high, with these purple velour swirls. It matches my yellow livingroom so well. The location is perfect- halfway between the place where I get my bus to school and Stockmann's, a massive, slightly overpriced grocery store. Close to the Old Town but not too close to the 'rents. Yesterday my real estate agent and his g/f and I went to Mr. Robinson, this really seedy bar. I wanna go back and find out if I can beat the hookers at pool. But anyway it was a lot of fun. And R.E.A. suggested that I call anytime I'm bored, which I always am, so it appears that I have an actual *friend.* Woohoo! Anyway, I'm off to work. More later.
