Please keep your fingers crossed for Seastreet and kin. We're about to get run over by the third hurricane in quick succession. For those of you who are not hurricane-savvy, one category 1 hurricane might lose you a couple slats from your roof; two will flood your lawn; two category ones and a category 4 is no good at all. A couple of my coworkers still don't have power from last weekend, and if you want to know what living in Florida without electricity is like, you might try locking yourself in a small, moldy hundred-degree cell with a humidifier and a couple cockroaches.

In a perfect universe, coworkers would respond to the volume buttons on remote controls.

I just spent a few minutes trying to convince the florist a few doors down to rent Adaptation to watch during the hurricane.

I am the only male working for the law firm, which confers unexpected job security- I just know that whenever I screw something up, my boss thinks like this:

-Fire Seastreet! He doesn't do a damn thing.

-Except lift things, and fix the Venetian blinds, and charm old ladies. Hmm.
