Congratulations! On behalf of the New York City Department of Education, we are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to the NYC Teaching Fellows Midyear program to teach Special Education.

Your acceptance to the Fellowship recognizes your achievements to date, your demonstrated teaching potential, and your commitment to the children of New York City. The subject you have been accepted to teach was determined by the staffing needs of the schools and a review of your teaching eligibility and preferences.

Your start-training date is January 3, 2005. The Enrollment Guide posted below provides more detailed information about the Midyear program, as well as enrollment instructions. Please review this information carefully and submit your signed Fellow Commitment Form if you wish to enroll. We ask that you complete these materials within three weeks of your receipt of this message to ensure that you have an opportunity to matriculate as a Fellow.

Please note: Your participation in the program is contingent on satisfactory completion of the Fellowship’s enrollment materials, as well as a reference and background check, possession of U.S. citizenship or a valid green card, and our receipt of your official transcripts. Any candidate who has reported inaccurate or incomplete information may have his/her acceptance rescinded. Additionally, if you do not secure a school-level teaching position and pass both the LAST and Multi-Subject CST before January 31, 2005, you will not be permitted to continue in the Midyear program.
