I was going to count the number of times I was cut off in traffic on the way up here, but I lost track. Things have been faster than I am used to. Went to orientation the other night for the NYCTF program; went well. Ran into the fellow Interlochen grad who'd applied, and it was good to see her there. Inspirational speeches were given by all. I'm going to be teaching Special Ed in Brooklyn starting in February, insha'allah. If I'm not an utter badass by now, I'd better be by the time I start teaching in late January. My apartment is too small but kickass. The jacuzzi bath does indeed work. There is a jacuzzi... in my house. Yesterday I woke up with a tickle in my throat. It's gotten worse. Other than that, though, I think I've been happier than I've been in years. It's felt like coming home. I've done a few of my favorite things. Been to Ollies. Saw Closer at the Loew's at Lincoln Center. Had the ridiculously good turkish latte (purists be damned) at the Tea Lounge. Saw Shiv perform at the Orange Bear. Hopefully this will be the most pucillanimous entry I write within the next year. Updates will be scant from here on out since I'm sans computer and even if I had one I'd be sans internet. In the meantime, I wish each and every one of you the most peaceful of holidays and the happiest of years to come.
